lyrics

Billy’s vision quest

Billy was an empath, his brain was wired a little differently to most.
Billy was a sensitive boy he communicated easily with ghosts
Billy came to life in nature but the city was quite a drain
The vortex of digital electric stimulation was
Pulsing like a rave in his brain

Check my email look at the web
What does my phone say, what does my phone say?
Got five new texts, now where’s my game?
I got a hundred thousand facebook friends
Try to follow them all on their twitter feed
And to balance it out he’s smoking skunk weed.

Billy started painting a massive canvas on the floor
Mountains and meadows came to life with his strokes
And in the centre he painted a door
He waited until midnight then cast the runes for a symbol to draw
He chanted the chant he’d been given at seven
Then he knocked three times on the door

As if by magic it opened and there she stood like Kwan Yin
Holding a bunch of herbs and flowers
And with soft eyes smiling at him
She said Welcome home Billy I’m your spiritual midwife
I’m so pleased to see you again in this life
Now come on in boy, take off your shoes
We’ll soon find a way to get rid of those blues
A little re wiring perhaps, maybe a new fuse

And Billy said Hey there spiritual midwife
Take me to the clouty tree and bathe me in the well of life
Lay me on the Sarson stones I need to sense my feeling tones
Put your hands on my head and chest
Please take me on my vision quest!

Young Billy your right of passage time has come
Now lie down here give me the knife and the gun
Oh little Billy there’s a hole in your heart
But your spirit is strong and it shines through the art

Now drink this tea of herbs, flowers and barks
And a crystal elixir to see in the dark
It’ll nourish your root, find the shoot of your disease
And don't forget these mushrooms and leaves.

Ok Billy lets go to download mode and let the story unfold
In your head on the bed through your electromagnetic web
There’ll be minute explosions of interior sound tones
Chains of influence, interweaving chromosomes
Let your emotions liberate your neurones
I’ll be right here beside you gently holding your bones

And Billy said - Hey there spiritual midwife
Take me to the clouty tree bathe me in the well of life
Lay me on the Sarsen stones I need to sense my feeling tones
Put your hands on my head and chest
Take me on my vision quest!

Billiy’s vision took him to the Tzang mountains
Where he saw the Daoist priestess Kwan Yin floating
Above a meadow of the purest herbs
Around her head a crown of golden humming birds
She took little Billy by the hand to the beech trees
Roots cascading to the sea of possibilities
Billy you're all fire and wood
Now you’ll need to move your body, move your qi to feel good.

Hold my hands Billy the earths gonna rumble and quake
Together they fell through the clouty tree to the jade purity lake
Past the book of changes the six pipes and bells
Billy heard a song as he woke up by the Madron well
It said Dance with me, dance with me, dance with me, sing
Sing me your song its your medicine dreaming
Dance me the rhythms your hear in your bones
Now can you sense your deep feeling tones.

And Billy said - Hey there spiritual midwife
Take me to the clouty tree bathe me in the well of life
Lay me on the Sarsen stones I need to sense my feeling tones
Put your hands on my head and chest
Take me on my vision quest!

“Ok Billy you’ll be alright now boy”
“Thank you spiritual midwife”
“That's ok Billy, just stay away from the skunk weed Billy”
“Ok Spiritual midwife”
“Bye Billy”
“Bye spiritual midwife, see you in another seven years”
